Three Enterprises win Amara Raja Better Way Awards

Hyderabad: The Amara Raja Group, a $2 billion global conglomerate, has announced the winners of 2nd Edition of 'The Amara Raja Better Way Awards'. The annual awards were instituted two years ago to acknowledge and celebrate exceptional individuals and entities that contribute to improving the quality of life in rural areas by providing better access to better opportunities. They were evaluated on their social and community impact, as well as their role in creating local employment opportunities.

The three winners are: Thanima Products and Marketing won the Award for Rural Income Generation. Thanima is a Kerala-based company founded in 2012 by Bijumon K R The company is fostering rural economic growth, promoting sustainable business practices, and empowering local communities. Thanima has achieved significant revenue growth by directly sourcing raw materials from farmers in rural Kerala and Tamil Nadu, ensuring they receive the highest value for their produce.

Siyanjali Retails Pvt Ltd won the Award for Best Agri-based Business. Founded by Yashpal and Vanita Chandel, Siyanjali is dedicated to reviving millet consumption in Himachal Pradesh, fostering sustainable agriculture, and driving community well-being. Since its inception in 2021, the company has demonstrated a clear vision for promoting healthy food habits, empowering local farmers, and supporting rural economic growth.

Farm2Fam India Pvt Ltd situated in Maharashtra won the Award for Women Employment. It has emerged as a transformative leader in promoting women’s empowerment and fostering rural economic development through innovative agricultural practices. With a visionary approach to cultivating locally grown fruits, Farm2Fam not only addresses the need for import substitution but also ensures affordable access to high-quality produce for Indian consumers, contributing to better public health.

The three chosen entrepreneurs have made an impact on lives and livelihoods through their initiatives and have played an indispensable role in driving economic growth, job creation, and community advancement. They were awarded Rs 3 lakh cash prize each and a one-year mentorship with Amara Raja’s CXOs across finance, HR, marketing, IT, and supply chain.

“The winners have made a tremendous social and economic impact through their innovative solutions and products.
